As a well-respected environmental consultant with over 12 years of experience, Melissa Fredrick Polk possesses valuable environmental risk assessment experience and perspective gained through her work in the private sector.
She has extensive experience in environmental issues ranging from evaluation of toxicity and exposure data for projects spanning from litigation support and development of alternative cleanup standards to Master Planning and Cost-Life Cycle Analysis for Federal Programs. She is familiar with relevant local, state and federal environmental regulations and has co-authored and provided peer input on several studies in various journals.
After earning her Bachelor's of Science in Biology from the University of Dayton, Melissa completed graduate coursework in environmental engineering at Villanova University and environmental science and management at Duquesne University.
She is also a graduate of Leadership Pittsburgh Inc. OnBoard where she gained first-hand knowledge of the decision-making process of regional public, private and non-profit institutions.
